The Victorian section of the preferred easement for the VNI West transmission project has been released by Transmission Company Victoria.
The preferred easement, now 70m wide along most of the route, has been shaped by 18 months of consultation with communities and individual landholders, along with field studies as well as technical and engineering assessments.
The process to identify the preferred easement began with determining the 50km–wide area of interest, followed by the 2km-wide draft corridor in October 2023.
This work to refine the route is detailed further in the VNI West Preferred Easement Report available on the Reports page.
The preferred easement is around 70m wide along most of the route, subject to regulatory assessment under Environment Effects Statement (EES).
