Consultation on the VNI West draft scoping requirements is now underway. This is an important opportunity for community members to provide feedback on what matters should be considered in the EES.
An EES is the state’s most rigorous and transparent environmental assessment. It describes a project, its rationale and potential environmental effects. It enables stakeholders and decision-makers to understand how the project is proposed to be implemented and the likely environmental effects of doing so.
The EES studies will be wide ranging and may address the following areas:
The draft scoping requirements will remain open for public comment until Wednesday 18 December 2024.
This process is one of the two formal opportunities for communities and other stakeholders to provide feedback to DTP on the EES process.
All submissions will be reviewed and considered by the Department. The final scoping requirements will be posted on the Department’s website following approval from the Minister for Planning.
